IAS officer Divya Mittal is trending across India after announcing her voluntary resignation from the Indian Administrative Service following an eventful 13-year career. The 2013-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer shared the decision through an emotional social media post on August 30, 2026.

Mittal reflected on her journey from IIT Delhi and IIM Bangalore to a corporate career in London and eventually public service in India. She explained that although she had achieved many of her personal ambitions, she wanted to dedicate herself to the dreams she had for the people she served.

During her administrative career, Mittal held several important positions in Uttar Pradesh, including District Magistrate of Mirzapur and Deoria. Her work in Mirzapur, particularly efforts to bring piped water to the remote Lahuria Dah village, earned her considerable appreciation from local residents.

In her farewell message, Mittal recalled the lessons she learned from people during her postings. She said the most meaningful moments came from seeing families receive land rights, people with disabilities gain dignity and farmers get access to water.
