September has started with fresh price changes affecting India’s aviation and commercial sectors. Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have increased by 5.46%, while commercial LPG cylinder prices have also been raised across several major cities.
The price of ATF for domestic airlines has increased by Rs 6.28 per litre to Rs 121.28 per litre. This is the second consecutive monthly increase after a Rs 5-per-litre rise in August.
Commercial LPG prices have also gone up. In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg cylinder has increased to Rs 2,747.50. Mumbai’s revised price stands at Rs 2,701, while Kolkata has recorded an increase to Rs 2,884.
However, there is some relief for households because the price of the standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged.
The increase in commercial fuel costs could affect businesses such as restaurants, hotels and other establishments that rely heavily on LPG. Higher aviation fuel costs could also add pressure to airline operating expenses.
The latest revisions are linked to changes in international benchmark prices and are being closely watched by businesses and consumers as the festive season approaches.
