South Africa enter the ODI series with confidence after winning the T20I tri-series in Windhoek. The Proteas defeated Namibia by 11 runs in their most recent meeting on September 4, posting 228/4 before restricting Namibia to 217/3.
Lhuan-dre Pretorius was the standout performer in that encounter, scoring an unbeaten-looking attacking innings of 101 from 53 deliveries before being dismissed late in the innings. Connor Esterhuizen also played a major role, scoring 88 from only 40 balls. Their opening partnership produced 156 runs and helped South Africa reach a formidable total.
Namibia, however, demonstrated that they can challenge South Africa. Earlier in the T20I tri-series, Namibia defeated the Proteas by 18 runs after scoring 163/9 and restricting South Africa to 145/9.
