Kanpur: Kashi Rudras delivered a powerful performance against table-toppers Meerut Mavericks in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League on Tuesday, September 1, defeating them by 56 runs at Green Park Stadium.
Batting first after winning the toss, Kashi Rudras posted an impressive 175 for four in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Karan Sharma led from the front with a composed 57 off 40 balls, while wicketkeeper-batter Upendra Yadav provided the late acceleration with a spectacular 57 from just 29 deliveries. His innings included five sixes and four boundaries.
Meerut Mavericks struggled badly during their chase of 176. The opening wicket fell early, and Kashi’s bowlers continued to put pressure on the batting order. Kartik Yadav was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets for only 12 runs in four overs.
Divyansh Rajput offered some resistance with 39 from 31 balls, but wickets continued to fall around him. Meerut were eventually bowled out for 119 in 19.2 overs.
The victory moved Kashi Rudras into third place with 10 points and confirmed their playoff qualification. Meerut Mavericks remained at the top with 15 points, despite the defeat.
