India has stepped up rescue and assistance operations following severe flooding along the Nepal-Tibet border, where hundreds of Indian nationals were reported missing. The government has deployed additional teams and supplies as authorities continue search and recovery operations in difficult conditions.
According to reports, more than 275 Indians remained missing after flash floods affected the region. At the same time, hundreds of Indian citizens successfully crossed into Nepal from China, while many others were reported safe and in contact with authorities.
The disaster has created challenging conditions for rescue teams because of flooding, damaged infrastructure and difficult terrain. India has provided relief materials as well as specialised assistance to support local operations.
Officials are continuing efforts to identify missing people and establish contact with those still in affected areas. Families of those missing are closely following government updates as rescue operations progress.
The situation has also highlighted the risks faced by travellers and workers in mountainous border regions during extreme weather events.
Authorities are expected to continue coordinating with neighbouring countries and local agencies until the rescue and recovery effort is completed. The incident serves as another reminder of the importance of early warnings, emergency communication and coordinated disaster response in flood-prone Himalayan regions.
