Telangana Crime News Today: Hyderabad Murder, Cybercrime & Police Updates

Telangana crime news today: Several crime-related incidents are making headlines across Telangana on September 27, 2026, with Hyderabad reporting a suspected murder following a family dispute, a knife-attack case involving a school principal, a major cybercrime crackdown and continuing police action against harassment and other offences.

Police investigations are ongoing in several cases, and allegations reported by authorities should not be treated as convictions unless established by a court.

Hyderabad Murder Case After Family Dispute

One of the major Telangana crime news developments today comes from Bagh Lingampally in Hyderabad, where a 29-year-old woman was allegedly killed during a family dispute.

According to police, the incident occurred on Sunday morning near Macherla Jewellery Shop. The woman’s husband, identified as Narender, 34, allegedly attacked her with a grinding stone during an argument. She suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene.

  • Incident reported in Bagh Lingampally, Hyderabad.
  • A 29-year-old woman died following alleged injuries.
  • Police have identified the woman’s husband as a suspect.
  • A search was launched after the accused allegedly fled.
  • The exact circumstances and motive remain under investigation.

School Principal Booked in Knife-Attack Case

Another Hyderabad crime update involves a school principal in Suraram, who has been booked after allegedly attacking two men with a knife.

According to Telangana Today, the incident followed a confrontation at a school in Pandu Basti. The two men had reportedly questioned the principal over allegations concerning the alleged harassment and misbehaviour of a female teacher.

The confrontation allegedly escalated, after which the principal, identified as Daniel Raj, allegedly attacked the two men with a knife. Both suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

Police registered a case and began investigating the assault. Authorities are also looking into the allegations made by the teacher against the principal.

Hyderabad Digital Arrest Scam: ₹18 Lakh Lost

Cybercrime remains another major concern in Telangana. In a recent Hyderabad case, a 90-year-old retired employee from Old Bowenpally allegedly lost ₹18 lakh after fraudsters posed as Central Bureau of Investigation officials.

According to the report, the victim was kept on video calls for almost three days and was allegedly threatened with arrest in a fake money-laundering investigation.

The fraudsters reportedly claimed that the victim’s Aadhaar details had been used to open a Canara Bank account connected to illegal transactions. Such cases are commonly described as “digital arrest” scams, in which criminals impersonate law-enforcement officials and pressure victims into transferring money.

Residents should remember that genuine law-enforcement agencies do not normally conduct arrests through video calls or demand money to cancel an arrest.

Cybercrime Police Crack Down on Fraud Networks

Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have also been conducting wider investigations into online financial fraud.

A recent operation resulted in 47 arrests across seven states linked to 36 cybercrime cases registered following complaints submitted through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.

Police reportedly seized mobile phones, SIM cards, cheque books, debit cards, laptops and other electronic equipment during the investigation. Authorities also reported that approximately ₹99.79 lakh was successfully refunded to victims.

The investigation highlights the interstate nature of many cybercrime networks and the importance of coordinated police action.

SHE Teams Focus on Women’s Safety

Hyderabad’s SHE Teams have also increased monitoring in crowded areas during recent Ganesh immersion festivities.

According to a September 27 report, police detained 1,530 people allegedly involved in eve-teasing during a special drive conducted between September 14 and 23.

The teams monitored areas along the immersion route from Khairatabad to Balapur, focusing on preventing harassment and improving safety for women and girls during large public gatherings.

Other Telangana Crime Investigations

Police across Telangana are continuing investigations into a range of offences, including organised theft, drug-related cases, assault and cyber fraud.

Hyderabad Police recently reported dismantling an interstate gang allegedly connected with cattle thefts and shutter-lifting burglaries involving mobile-phone shops. Investigators said the operation helped solve 17 cases, with property worth approximately ₹22 lakh recovered.

These cases demonstrate the range of enforcement activity currently taking place across Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.
